TONIGHT: Onibaba screening with live musical score

Yeah, we just heard about this too.  There is a FREE screening tonight of Kaneto Shindo’s Japanese horror classic Onibaba at West Philly’s Rotunda at 8:00 PM.  The screening will feature live accompaniment by Gene Coleman and the three member Ensemble N_JP.  These are the same folks responsible for last October’s Page of Madness live score, which I was underwhelmed by, but at least that was a silent film.  Last I checked, Onibaba has dialogue (however sparse) so it will be interesting to see how they go about pulling this off.  Please let us know how it goes if you make it out.

Onibaba screens digitally tonight at 8:00 PM at The Rotunda (4014 Walnut Street).
