We’re really excited about this one: next month the Ritz East will host pop culture archivist Thomas W. Holland’s retro tribute to everyone’s favorite holiday. Santa’s Cool Holiday Film Festival will feature a new digital restoration of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (a film best known as the screen debut of Pia Zadora from Voyage of the Rock Aliens fame [too obscure?]) accompanied by a bevy of vintage Christmas-themed shorts that include appearances by Howdy Doody, Ozzie and Harriet, and Lambchop. The complete program will be screened four times:
Friday, December 9, 10:00 PM
Saturday, December 10, 1:00 PM
Saturday, December 10, 10:00 PM
Sunday, December 11, 1:00 PM
Kudos to Landmark and Holland Releasing for some creative programming.
