Philly-area Theatrical Releases for Friday, August 24

The Apparition (wide) PG-13 rated ghost story.

Compliance (Ritz at the Bourse) That “controversial” film that everyone has been talking about…love it or hate it, this mental mind game certainly provides some talking points.

Cosmopolis (Ritz at the Bourse) The lead from Twilight teams with the director of Videodrome for a limousine-set thriller.

Hit & Run (opened wide on August 22) An action film from a guy who has watched Smokey and the Bandit and True Romance a few too many times.

Premium Rush (wide) I think this bike messenger thriller was supposed to be released years ago, that’s usually saying something.

Robot & Frank (Ritz Five) Frank Langella and his robot friend, I hope it lives up to the sweetness of its poster.
