Philadelphia to host the World Premiere of The Mighty Macs

The Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall will host the World Premiere of the locally-shot inspirational sports film The Mighty Macs this Friday (10/14) at 7 pm. Based on a true story, the G-rated film concerns Immaculata University’s legendary female basketball team from the early ’70s with Carla Gugino in the role of Coach Cathy Rush. Both Gugino and Rush will be in attendance at the premiere alongside co-star David Boreanaz and some additional female basketball coaches. The screening will be followed by a “’70s themed disco party” at the Kimmel Center’s Commonwealth Plaza. Admission to the premiere is $150 (yes, $150) with all proceeds benefiting Coaches Vs. Cancer and Immaculata University.
