The Philadelphia Film Society’s “filmadelphia CLASSICS” series marches on through the summer with some creative venue choices that may actually make you want to sit through Rocky or 12 Monkeys for the millionth time…
MON May 16, 5:30 PM: Philadelphia at the Mayor’s screening room in City Hall where portions of the film were shot. It’s open to the public, but a pre-show RSVP is required.
WED June 15, 7:30 PM: The Wrestler at South Philly’s Asylum Arena, former home of ECW, where scenes from the film were shot.
WED July 27, sundown: 12 Monkeys behind the walls of Eastern State Penitentiary where portions of it were filmed.
SAT August 13, 8:00 PM: The Sixth Sense at Rittenhouse Square.
WED September 14, 7:30 PM: Rocky at South Philly’s Asylum Arena where scenes from Rocky Balboa were also filmed.
Keep it up, PFS! I look forward to seeing what you’ll come up with next year after the current Philly-themed series wraps up.
