Lucas Mangum’s Horror Corner is a weekly roundup of recent horror-related posts from around the web; a handy guide to the notable horror happenings of the past week. Enjoy…
It looks as though the next entry in the Halloween franchise will be in the hands of Platinum Dunes. Unfortunately this may mean that favorites Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier may no longer be involved. It’s a true shame, as I feel they would’ve brought something fresh and fun to the franchise. At this rate, Platinum Dunes is paced to gobble up all the horror series of yesteryear. (Bloody Disgusting)
As of last Tuesday, Maria Bello was in talks for James Wan’s House of Horror. The star of A History of Violence is one of my personal favorites, and I’m confident that she’ll bring a lot to this already promising film. (Bloody Disgusting)
The trailer for A Fantastic Fear of Everything was revealed to fans via Simon Pegg’s Twitter account. This is going to be a fun one. (Bloody Disgusting)
In anticipation for the release of Lovely Molly, head over to Bloody Disgusting for a peak at the video series, Lovely Molly-The Path to Madness.
The legendary Joss Whedon talks Cabin in the Woods. (Dread Central)
A TV series based on Hellraiser? In the right hands (and particularly on the right network) this could be the shot in the arm that the franchise needs. I’d personally be more interested in seeing another theatrical film though. Hellraiser is a rich mythology that, despite the nearly countless sequels, I feel has nearly unlimited potential. (Dread Central)
Robert Englund was interviewed by Moviehole. The most interesting bit of the interview was when he touches on the Nightmare prequel that never was: a crime thriller helmed by John McNaughton!
I can’t imagine anything more exciting than Eduardo Sanchez returning to the woods. This time around, he tackles the legend of Bigfoot. (Variety)
A Silent Night, Deadly Night remake? You can’t keep an evil Santa down… (Variety)
Check out the excellent poster and trailer for No Tell Motel over at Fangoria.
While this isn’t technically movie news, it’s definitely exciting for fans. As part of the Demons and Demons 2 Blu-ray discs, there will be pages from the comic, Demons 3, included. (Fangoria)
