KinoWatt comes to Philly this Friday, April 6 at 8:00 PM at the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street) for the presentation of three short films including That Which Once Was with director Kimi Takesue in attendance.
KinoWatt’s April installment features groundbreaking short films from FUTURESTATES, a series created by the Independent Television Service (ITVS), who asked both renowned and emerging filmmakers to take the current state of affairs in the United States and extrapolate them into stories of the nation in the not-so-distant future.
Each episode of FUTURESTATES presents a different filmmaker’s vision of American society projected forward, fusing an exploration of social issues with elements of speculative and science fiction. Don’t miss the groundbreaking film and enlightening conversation this month at KinoWatt!
