The fine folks over at Exhumed Films just announced one of their soon-to-be greatest achievements thus far: a one-day marathon of all five Planet of the Apes films. Here’s a chronological list for those of you (including myself) who can never keep the names of the films straight: Planet of the Apes (1968), Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971), Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972), and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973). Their combined running time is 486 minutes. The event will be held on Sunday July 31 at the International House and will begin at 11:00 AM. Further event details can be found here.
NOTE: Mike White over at ImpossibleFunky Productions just sent the following valuable advice our way:
“Before some geek attacks you, you may want to say ‘Chronological in terms of release date’ since Escape, Conquest and Battle technically come before Planet and Beneath.”
Thanks Mike! Cinedelphia highly recommends our cult-oriented readers to check out Mike’s book Impossibly Funky: A Cashiers du Cinemart Collection.
