The Hiway Theatre will be hosting a one-night-only “best of” the recent FirstGlance Film Festival on Sunday, October 30 at 7:30pm.
From the press release:
For those who want to kick off Halloween early, the tone and themes of the selections certainly evoke the macabre [Calendar Girl], the surreal [The Interview], the unfathomable [Shelter], and the horrors of everyday life [Smoke and Mirrors]. Heck, there’s even a music video from a band named Burning Witches—you can’t get much more Halloween-themed than that! More importantly, this eclectic collection of award winners features local talent–actors, filmmakers and producers–from the Tri State area and, in some cases, from our own “backyard”: actor Adam Shapiro from Abington is featured in The Interview and the star actress of Calendar Girl, Jensen Bucher, hails from the Bucks County area.
Some of the artists/producers will be in attendance, including Calendar Girl director (and actor) Derek Lindeman, and a Q&A will follow the screening, hosted by Eric Bresler, local film festival programmer and founder of the blog known as CINEDELPHIA. This is the first Best of FirstGlance screening in the festival’s history.
