So as most of you probably know, Phoenixville’s Colonial Theatre holds an annual festival that celebrates the 1958 film The Blob, portions of which were shot in that area. This year’s event will be held July 13-15 and is so involved that I’m not even going to try to list it all here (all of the details are available here, I think I’m going to have to check out both the Friday night run out of the theater and the Saturday streetfair, both events feature the always entertaining Ghoul-A-Go-Go gang), here’s a quick rundown:
Friday, July 13
7:00 PM : Performers, short films, and the “run out”
Saturday, July 14
11:00 AM : Blobfest Streetfair
11:00 AM : The Blob (35mm) + The Day the Earth Stood Still
3:15 PM : The Blob (35mm) + The Day the Earth Stood Still
8:00 PM : The Blob (35 mm) + Caltiki: The Immortal Monster (DVD)
Sunday, July 15
2:00 PM : The Blob (35mm)
Tickets for the 2012 Blobfest go on sale tomorrow, June 1.
